18TH CENTURY LIVING HISTORY IN AUSTRALIA.

Saturday 24 December 2011

Australian Living History Forum, and Armidale Living History Group.

Mail around Xmas time is pretty thin on the ground, so it is a good time for me to do some research. I decided to find some Australian Living History Forums, but was very surprised to find that there don't appear to be any listed on the net! Hence this post, advertising our group's 18th century Living History forum. We do have members on our forum from a variety of countries, but the forum itself is very definately Australian.
Our main interest is focused on the late 17th century through to 1760ad in the New World. We are not talking Americans here, we are talking about emigrants from a variety of countries travelling to & settling in the New World. We study & interpret the life style of ordinary people in the Eastern parts of the New World, including the New World natives. However, as we are actually living in Australia, we also need to learn as much as we can about the Australian flora & fauna & some of the Australian native skills.
If you think you might be interested in our group, you can contact me through this blog, or you can email me at: historicaltrekker@gmail.com. Our group's forum address is: http://eighteenthcenturylivinghistory.freeforums.org/

Our group, the New England Colonial Living History Group 1680-1760 is a working group, not just a forum on the net. We are based just outside Armidale New England NSW.

Thank you Keith and Merry Christmas. I did find a Yahoo group that was supposed to be doing Australian Living History. But I'd stumbled into the middle of a war about something so I quietly stepped right out again. Maybe they have found peace by now. But I will look into your instead I think.

Hi Craig. There are other living history sites, but their forum capabilities are B grade. Like Yahoo for instance, no way to post images along with your script.
Have a look down the left hand side of my blog, you will find a list of sites that may be of interest to you.
Our forum is mainly 18th century, but just like my blog, we can accomidate people interested in the 19th century.
Regards, Keith.
